Light on black colour scheme (Dark mode / Black mode / Night Mode)
Before knowing about dark mode let’s make a glance on why they started using dark mode. Smartphone screen emits so you can see them even at the sunniest times of the day, but when it comes to night your brain gets puzzled by the blue light as it imitates the brightness of the sun. This causes the brain to stop producing a hormone that regulates the sleep wake cycle known as Melatonin, because of this smartphone light. This can distrupt your sleep cycle. Making you harder to fall asleep so to overcome this they have introduced a concept called as light on black color scheme.
Dark mode
It is a Graphical User Interface elements on a dark background. It is light text on dark background and it is better for reducing eye strain in low light condition.
Advantages and disadvantages of Dark mode
Advantages
• Can reduce power usage by a significant amount depending on devices screen technology.
• Improves visibilities for the users with lower vision and those who are responsive to low light.
• Dark mode is great in low light environment and it’s nicer to read white text on dark background.
• It is better for reducing eye strain in low light condition.
Disadvantage
• During daytime under direct sunlight , It becomes unable to operate many functions.
• Humans are used to read dark letters on light background not only on screen but on anything for this reason dark mode affects radability.
You can enable dark mode on latest Android as well as on IPhone devices
Android :
Navigate to Settings > Display > Theme.

IOS:
Navigate to Settings > Display and brightness > Dark or Light.
Older IOS:
Navigate to Settings > General >Accessebility > Display accommodation > Invert color > ON
Dark mode was introduced with iOS 13.
